Erica Ginsberg

Consulting Producer, Story Consultant

Erica Ginsberg is a documentary filmmaker and story consultant based in the Washington DC area. She is the co-founder and was the Founding Executive Director of Docs In Progress, a nonprofit film services organization that helped more than a thousand documentary filmmakers move forward on their projects. She continues to be involved with the DC-area film community through her work with the Mid-Atlantic Independent Media Arts Coalition and with the broader documentary community as co-host of The D-Word, an on-line documentary filmmaker community with more than 19,000 members from around the world. She is committed to supporting creatives across disciplines through her blog and forthcoming book on creative resilience. Her films have included Creative Feds (about federal workers who moonlight as musicians), Crucible of War (about post-war life in former Yugoslavia), and a work-in-progress California USA (about what it means to live in small towns across the country that are named California). Erica has a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University and an M.A. in Film and Video from American University.
